He was also a very safe driver which I think is really important in Nairobi.

He also answered all my questions that he knew about the elephants and the giraffes ahead of getting to the different sites. If you’re going, be sure to find out if you can have the amazing Peter as a guide, it’s well worth waking up that early and the cost!

Patrick, my driver was kind, respectful and a gentleman. Patrick was on time and attentive to me. As we drove to my hotel, Patrick pointed out and explained all the sites and buildings on the way and answered all my questions with accurate information. I highly recommend African Beast Tours and Safaris for all your travel while visiting Kenya.

Doing this before heading out to the safari is a good way to shake off the jet lag after the long flights and to get used to the roads you will find in the bigger parks.
The Giraffe Center allows to to fee the giraffes, and is a good place to go for half hour and the Elephant Orphanage, allows you see and interact with baby and younger elephants who for one reason or another have been separated or have lot their mothers. There is also a baby Black Rhino who comes into the area before the elephants.
The staff who look after the animals obviously heavily invested in there welfare, which is nice to see.
All very cute and a worthwhile half day.

  “Black Santa”, as the driver/tour guide called himself (his real name is “Santa”) picked us up from our accommodation timely and with good humor from start till being returned. He... read more was very knowledgeable of all the animals in the national park (and the other stops), sharing historical facts and anecdotes all along the way. He took us to a few gift shops, which we didn’t mind. You can say “no” also. One was a bead making shop that empowers, supports and employs women who are single parents and such— 95% of the employees are the women, which we can see transform mud into beautifully shaped and painted ceramic beads, cured in an oven.

The vehicle itself looked a bit beat up inside (which stood out among several of the newer and fancier safari vehicles at the park), including some rattling noises at the back of the vehicle (affected by the potholes and uneven streets, but making it challenging for those at the very rear to him him). However and nonetheless, Santa and the experiences more than made up for that. It was a truly wonderful day. We thought the tour would end near 1pm, but we actually returned at 3pm. Santa is very flexible and seeks to please.

The giraffe center and the elephant orphanage allowed us to be closer in touch with these two animals and even touch them (both) and feed them (the giraffes). It was very special. We did not stay too long at these two last locations, but it felt just right (we were anyway already tired from waking up early for the 6am start).

This tour is highly recommended. I will surely go on it again when I return.

I felt totally at ease and safe. We also did the hells gate 18k bike tour and walk, again we saw 10/10 stunning scenes, Regaan the park guide was a pure joy, really kind hearted and well spoken. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to see the beauty of lion king and learn some history
