I did a full day trip with Patrick as my driver who took me from Nairobi to Hell's Gate and then onto Lake Naivasha and back.

Patrick picked me... read more up on time and was an excellent driver, navigating the busy streets of Nairobi. Along the way Patrick chatted about lots of Kenya history and interesting facts. We stopped at a viewpoint of the great rift valley and had the opportunity to purchase souvenirs (but there was no pressure to purchase).

We arrived at Hell's Gate on time and there I met my guide Reagan for a bike tour of Hell's Gate. Reagan was a very knowledgeable about the park and the wildlife within it and he was an excellent guide. Reagan then took me to walk through the Njorowa Gorge (this has only just reopened following a prolonged closure). The gorge was fascinating and again, Reagan had lots of knowledge about the surroundings. Reagan also took lots of photos for me, which, as a solo traveller, was much appreciated.

I met up again with Patrick who drove me to a local hotel restaurant where we ordered food. We took a 1 hour boat ride on Lake Naivasha whilst the food was, cooked. We saw many many birds, hippos and also went to look at crescent island and the many wildlife on there. The food at the restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced.

We then made the journey back to Nairobi arrrivng back around 5pm, again, Patrick was an excellent driver and I felt very safe.

Overall I would give the tour 10/10 and both of the guides were excellent.

My guide/driver Martin and Watson were very knowledgeable and explained everything I asked.

The Elephant orphanage and giraffe Center was absolutely incredible, the baby elephants were so adorable and you can’t just get enough of them, they were super cute. Same goes for the Giraffe Center, feeding the giraffes was quite fun. And you get to see baby giraffes too.

This trip surely is going to be one of my favourite in Kenya, and I must thank Martin and Watson for that, without them it wouldn’t have been the same.
